Senior leader KC Venugopal emphasized the significance of respecting all religions, saying that the Congress "respects everybody's beliefs" and that every political party "has the freedom to (express) their views."

Kamal Nath, who was on the opposing side, told the media, "These may be his personal views... I am not in agreement with Mr. Stalin." The former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh is preparing for the state's next legislative elections.

Priyanka Chaturvedi, the leader of the Shiv Sena UBT, also expressed support. In a statement, she defended "sanatan dharma (as) the country's bedrock... linked... to inclusivity of all faiths and identities."
